How we Apply Our Epoxy Coatings

Here at Garage Floor Effects, we have been working in this industry for more than a decade. We know how to ensure you have a new garage floor that lasts longer than you think. Here’s how we apply our epoxy coatings:

Step one – Floor resurfacing

If it is necessary to resurface your floor we will do so. We will ensure that you are left with an even and clean surface that we can work with. We’ll use our trusted grinder to remove any tire, oil, and chemical stains. Don’t worry, if we think we need to resurface your floor we will tell you. We’ll also explain why we think this step is required.

Step two – Floor coating

The next stage is to fill in any imperfections and cracks. We will do this before we apply the coating so that your floor is even. Once the imperfections and cracks are filled in we’ll add your choice of base color. 

Step three – Adding the color flakes 

Now it’s time to add the color flakes. These flakes give your new floor character and depth. They also give the floor a granite-like texture. We have a range of colors to offer you,

Step four – Adding the clear coating

Once the color flakes have been added, we will start working on the final urethane application. This application locks in the flakes and the color coating. The application also ensures that your new garage floor has a glossy finish. In addition to this, it ensures it’s easy to look after.
